Copper alloy materials have very good seawater corrosion resistance and anti-wear effects, so they are widely used in marine engineering. However, parts of this material will also need to be repaired due to corrosion and wear to restore the size and function of the original parts. Compared with chrome plating, laser cladding technology will not pollute the environment and can overcome the shortcomings of low repair efficiency. Compared with fusion welding, laser cladding machine overcomes the problems of welding deformation and large heat-affected zone, thereby greatly improving the quality of repair. In addition, when removing waste paint and anodized coatings, laser cladding will not damage the performance of basic metal materials.

In summary, laser cladding technology is a rapid solidification technology, which can produce excellent structure and performance that cannot be obtained in a balanced state. Laser cladding can design the composition of the coating according to the performance requirements, and can prepare a high-alloy steel surface layer with excellent performance on cheap steel.
