How does the number of chucks affect the cutting effect of laser tube cutting machine

At present, there are mainly three types of laser pipe cutting machines: single chuck, double chuck, and triple chuck. Among them, the single-chuck laser tube cutting machine has advantages in cutting light and thin tube workpieces such as electronic cigarette tubes, furniture decoration, and guardrails. However, the loading and unloading range of the single-chuck laser pipe cutting machine is relatively fixed, and it cannot cut special-shaped pipes. At the same time, the cutting workpiece is single and has a low load-bearing capacity. It is time-consuming and labor-intensive to change the fixture for cutting different pipe materials. As the earliest pipe cutting machine on the market, the double chuck laser pipe cutting machine has advantages in cutting pipes such as fitness equipment, bicycles, shelves, and metal workpieces. But it has a lot of tailing loss, and it can't afford heavy pipe cutting either. Based on this, the three-chuck laser pipe cutting machine that can meet the requirements of cutting heavy materials, but is actually a transitional product, began to appear on the market.

At present, the types of three-chuck laser pipe cutting machines can be roughly divided into three types. Each structural design has its own characteristics, but there are disadvantages that are difficult to solve:

1. Clamping chuck A + Supporting Chuck B, the arrangement of the chucks from the loading side to the unloading side is ABB:

When cutting to the last tail of the pipe, if the A chuck is loosened, the workpiece cannot be opened and cut. Because the two B-type chucks are support chucks, they cannot move with the workpiece, so they cannot interpolate to complete the cutting pattern. At the same time, it is difficult to ensure the machining accuracy during the rotation of the two supporting chucks with material, and it is impossible to achieve true zero tailing. The A chuck cannot pass through the two B chucks, so the last section of the workpiece cannot be automatically dropped, and the mechanical arm cannot be added to assist in unloading. It can only be unloaded manually, which poses a safety hazard.

2. Clamping chuck A + Supporting Chuck B,the arrangement of the chucks from the loading side to the unloading side is ABA:

When unloading, the A chuck and B chuck on the feeding side clamp the raw material for cutting, and the A chuck on the unloading side alone clamps the finished workpiece for unloading, which needs the assistance of the servo servo pallet. If the length and weight of the finished product is large, it is difficult for a single clamping chuck to clamp the finished material pipe, which may easily cause the clamping chuck to fail or even be damaged by overturning. The servo follow-up pallet used for blanking occupies the stroke space of the chuck, so the size of the blanking workpiece is limited, and it cannot meet the blanking of workpieces of any length.

3. Clamping chuck A + Supporting Chuck B + Hollow Chuck C,the arrangement of the chucks from the loading side to the unloading side is ABC:

The C chuck is hollow, so it is impossible to make a long barrel to process the workpiece by hand. The requirements for workpieces with zero tailings are more stringent, and the length must be > 1200 mm. Due to its structural limitation, the A chuck cannot pass through the B chuck, and when the workpiece <800 mm is cut as the last workpiece, it can only be clamped and cut by a single chuck of the A chuck, and the cutting accuracy is difficult to guarantee. When both the processed raw material pipe and the finished workpiece are relatively long (for example, the length of the raw material pipe is 12 m, and the length of the finished material workpiece is 5 m), if the B chuck assists the C chuck in blanking, the A chuck alone holds the 7 m raw material after cutting . If the C chuck alone holds a 5 m workpiece for blanking, there will be huge mechanical and personnel safety hazards.

Therefore, the four-chuck laser pipe cutting machine was born. Compared with the common three-chuck laser pipe cutting machine, the advantages of the four-chuck laser pipe cutting machine are significantly improved:

1. Realize true zero tailing

The four-chuck structure can realize four chucks clamping and cutting at the same time, and there is no length limit for tailing processing, so as to realize the true zero tailing processing under all working conditions.

2. Avoid cutting safety risks

When the four-chuck pipe cutting machine is working, there is no need for manual intervention in the whole process. The last two chucks can move freely to carry the processed products, ensuring absolute safety of cutting materials and avoiding the risk of personal injury.

3. Simultaneous realization of processing and blanking

Compared with the three-chuck laser pipe cutting machine, the four-chuck laser pipe cutting machine can realize the simultaneous loading and processing of the next pipe on the loading side while the workpiece is being unloaded, which greatly improves the production efficiency.
